Breast Augmentation & Implants – Subiaco
Breast augmentation involves using breast implants to fulfill your desire of achieving fuller and rounder breasts which has been lost after weight fluctuations, pregnancy or breastfeeding. For those who had their breasts surgically removed as a way to prevent spreading of cancer cells, breast augmentation might offer long term solution to this problem.
Our medical facilities are one of the world’s finest plastic and cosmetic surgery centers. Our surgeons have been trained in the different areas of the cosmetic field and have medical knowledge in par with the best on the planet. We offer you five star facilities and satisfying breast augmentation results at highly competitive prices. We focus on patient safety by making sure that each of our patients had undergone strict and accurate assessment of medical history, general body type, and expectations about the surgery.
Who is a candidate for breast augmentation?
Women who have small breasts, sagging breasts, or those who feel like their breasts are too small for their body are good candidates for the procedure. However, they must be in good overall health with no history of bleeding or clotting disorders, cardiovascular problems, or high blood pressure. For those with severe breast sagging, breast implants alone cannot correct this. The patient may require additional surgery called a breast lift which can also be done in conjunction with a breast augmentation. In general, potential candidates are those with realistic expectations about the procedure and are willing to adhere to the instructions of the surgeon.
How safe are breast implants?
Under the hands of a qualified and highly trained cosmetic surgeon, the procedure will yield safe and very natural results. Our surgeons and registered nurses have vast experience in the cosmetic field due to a high volume of patients they treat. Their experience had helped them satisfy thousands of women seeking fuller and rounder breasts with minimal downtime and zero complications. Before conducting any cosmetic procedure, we make sure that each of our patients are properly assessed and are well informed about what they will go through.
What happens at the consultation?
Your surgeon will give you advice and evaluate different aspects related to the procedure. This includes your reason for having the breast implant surgery, your desired breast appearance, expectations and goals. You will be also asked to answer honestly about your use of certain medications, alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, vitamins, herbal supplements and previous surgeries. Your general health status and pre-existing health conditions or risk factors will also be assessed to prevent complications associated with the surgery.
Our surgeons will conduct breast examinations and may take detailed measurements of your breast size and shape, skin thickness, amount of breast tissue and placement of your nipples. Before and after photographs of past patients will be presented for you to have an idea on how your breasts will look like after the procedure.
What are the risks associated with breast augmentation?
All surgeries have risks and potential complications. If you experience any of the following, consult with your doctor immediately:
- Anesthesia risks
- Bleeding (hemorrhage)
- Blood clots (hematoma)
- Capsular contracture (firm scar tissue around the implant)
- Cardiac and pulmonary complications
- Deep vein thrombosis
- Fluid accumulation
- Implant leakage or rupture
- Infection characterized by fever and pus draining in the wound
- Persistent pain that cannot be controlled by medications
- Poor healing of incisions
- Possibility of revisional surgery
- Potential changes in breast sensation
- Unfavorable scarring
- Wrinkling or rippling of the skin over the implant
How do I prepare for the surgery?
There are certain preparations that each patient should adhere to in order to prevent complications associated with the procedure. Your surgeon will advise you to stop smoking and stop taking certain medications such as Aspirin as they can delay the healing process and impair the outcome of the surgery. A few days prior to the surgery, one of our staff will inform you of your scheduled time and will go over last minute details.
You are advised to arrange for someone to watch over you at the hospital during your stay and to drive you home after the surgery. Whatever your schedule is, we make sure that all of your appointments with us are scheduled on your most convenient time to avoid disruption in your normal routine.
What will I expect after the surgery?
You will be observed for the first 24 to 48 hours for any complications or unwanted reactions to anesthesia and medications. Your newly operated breasts may become bruised and swollen, but these are normal body reactions to the surgery. The results are immediately visible after a few weeks. Once swelling has completely subsided, the final breast appearance will be noticeable. You will be advised to wear support bra while in the recovery period.
