BREAST AUGMENTATION & IMPLANTS

RYDE

Many women lose breast volume after pregnancy and are not contented with the way their breasts hang after significant weight loss. There is now way to restore breast volume back except breast implants. No exercises or other way can build them back up. For women who seek fuller and rounder breasts, a breast augmentation procedure may offer long-term solution to this problem. Also, women who had their breasts surgically removed or those with underdeveloped breasts can undergo the procedure to reconstruct and improve their breast contour.

Women’s bodies come in a variety of sizes and shapes, so are their breasts. We believe that achieving their desired breasts requires a thorough assessment and correct implants that’s why each of our surgeons and registered nurses are individually hand-picked based on their training and experience to ensure high quality and very natural results. We put emphasis on patient safety by strictly monitoring the progress of our patients and by using the most stable implants on the market.

HOW DO YOU PREPARE

FOR BREAST IMPLANTS SURGERY?

Before the surgery, your surgeon will require you to undergo a baseline mammography to assess your breast health. If you are a smoker, or you are currently taking Aspirin, it is best to stop it few weeks before the surgery to prevent bleeding and delay in the healing process. Arrangements must be done with a family member, friend or someone to drive you home after recovery and to watch over you in the first few days of the surgery.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON

THE DAY OF THE OPERATION

On the day of the surgery, a certified anesthesiologist will administer a general anesthesia to induce sleep. Your surgeon will create an incision for the breast implants to be inserted. A silicone, saline or gummy bear implant will be inserted into the pocket and the placement will be verified. Your surgeon may insert drainage tubes to prevent body fluids from accumulating in the newly operated breasts. Sterile bandages will be then applied and will be covered with elastic bra for support. After that, you will be taken to the recovery room where you will be monitored for progress and complications. You will be allowed to go home after several hours or you can arrange for an overnight stay.

YOUR RECOVERY

AT HOME

For the following three weeks, you may be restricted from certain movements such as lifting your hand over your head, lifting heavy objects, and doing strenuous activities. You may need help with household tasks as your stitches can be removed if you move too much. Alcohol, cigarette smoking and resuming Aspirin are prohibited in order to facilitate healing. Wear loose clothing so that it does not rub or put pressure in your operated breasts. To fasten the healing process, increase your protein intake and follow your surgeon’s advice on wound care and changing of dressings. Closely monitor yourself for untoward signs and symptoms such as breast sensation changes, palpable or visible implants, severe pain, bruising, bleeding, and other abnormal signs that may require immediate medical evaluation. Most importantly, return to your surgeon for follow-up to assess your implants and breast health.

WHAT ARE THE LIMITATIONS

OF BREAST AUGMENTATION?

Unfortunately, breast implants can only last for 10 to 15 years. After such time, replacement may be needed. Also, in case your breast implants leak, an additional surgery is required to have it replaced or totally removed. Breast augmentation alone cannot correct severe sagging of the breasts; an additional surgery called breast lift is done in conjunction with the procedure for more appealing results. You may need to monitor your breast everyday for any abnormalities that may occur. Your surgeon will teach you on how to carefully assess the status of your breasts and how to massage them.

HOW SAFE ARE

BREAST IMPLANTS?

Research show that breast implants is rarely associated with breast cancer. In fact, breast augmentation is one of the most performed and safest breast procedures worldwide. With our highly trained surgeons, we assure each of our clients that the procedure will go smooth and will leave you with very natural result.

DOES MY HEALTH INSURANCE

COVER BREAST AUGMENTATION?

If done for cosmetic reasons, your health insurance agency will not cover any cost of the procedure. Usually, surgeries done to restore the function or to reconstruct a body part may be covered by health insurances. Make sure to review your health insurance policy regarding this matter. You can ask your health insurance for a letter guaranteeing the costs they will cover and show it to your surgeon to lessen the costs. You can have a written estimate of the entire procedure during the initial consultation with your surgeon or you can talk to one of our friendly staff.
